Product Description
Simply insert a Plant Nanny Wine Bottle stake into the soil near the plant. After filling the wine bottle hold a finger over the end to seal it. Turn the bottle over and release it as you set it in the stake. Plants roots will grow around the stake and use water more efficiently. The water level will be visible through the glass so you will know when to water. This optimal watering system is excellent for use in larger house plants, window boxes, container gardens, anywhere you want plants to have a reliable source of water. Use Plant Nanny Wine Bottle stakes when transplanting to help avoid root shock.

Love these little things. Plants look great with a wine bottle sticking out of them and they stay watered. Makes a great hostess gift with a bottle of wine. I bought the four pack for myself, but will buy another one and split it up into singles as gifts with a bottle of wine. Great for wine folks who garden!

5 out of 5 stars Best for your plants while you are on vacation.   June 17, 2010

These hold wine bottles in the pot, so plants can self water for up to a week. I guess if you used larger bottles, they would last longer. They really help keep your plants alive in the Texas heat.

5 out of 5 stars Plant nanny's work well   July 9, 2010

Last year I received a box of Plant Nanny's as a gift. They worked so well in between my regular waterings, or if we were away, I purchased 2 more sets of them this year!

5 out of 5 stars Great for people with dogs   July 15, 2010
must love dogs (Corpus Christi, TX)
I have tried the smaller Plant Nannies with globes and those with plastic adapters where you screw in empty plastic bottles. They worked well, but the dogs pulled out the globes and broke them, and they thought the plastic bottles and the plastic adapter they were screwed into were great chew toys. Finally, as a last resort, I tried the Wine Bottle Nannies and they are perfect. The wine bottles are too heavy for the dogs to pull out plus I think they work more effectively than the first two varieties. Also, they hold more water and thus need to be refilled less frequently. My plants have survived two summer of drought with no supplemental water other than the wine bottle plant nannies.
